California Steam Specialties (CA-SS) is a Manteca, California distributor of industrial valves, valve automation and steam system components, serving the Central Valley since 2003. Its customers include food and beverage processors, OEMs, power plants and state and federal agencies, and it represents ten manufacturers such as Kinetrol, VAC and Pratt Industrial.
The client’s website was outdated and made it hard to find products, brands and ways to request a quote. We redesigned it to organize the catalog by product family, showcase brand partners and industries, and make requesting a quote simple.

California Steam Specialties’ old website looked outdated and was hard to navigate. Customers had trouble finding products, seeing which brands the company carries and knowing how to request a quote, which hurt the company’s credibility with engineers and maintenance teams.

Build a clear, modern website that presents CA-SS as a trusted industrial supplier, helps visitors quickly find the right product or brand, and turns more visits into quote requests.
We redesigned the site around how customers actually look for products. The catalog is organized by product family, a line card shows the 15 brands the company represents, and an industries section shows what CA-SS supplies to each sector. A prominent quote request is available from every page, so getting in touch takes just a few clicks.
The Home page presents CA-SS through its experience, brands and capabilities. Each section reveals itself as visitors scroll.

A single, text-heavy page with a generic product collage and one long list of products. Visitors couldn’t tell what services CA-SS actually offers or how to take the next step.
Services are organized into clear sections: Valve Automation, Positioner Retrofit, Control Valve Repair and Engineering Support. A “How it works” process (request, quote, assemble, ship) and a quote CTA guide visitors forward.
A short block of bullet points beside a small stock photo, with no visual hierarchy. The company’s story, its owners and its credentials were hard to tell apart, and there was no clear next step.
The story is told through a timeline, from the company’s founding in 2003 to today. Clear value cards explain why customers choose CA-SS, and the owners, Hector and Katherine Arroyo, are introduced with their photos. A map and a quote CTA close the page.
